Slovenia is one of the countries on the Continent of Europe that has the least amount of coastline (of those from which you can sail out to sea). It is a country whose sea is only 40 km long, and is flanked by Italy and Croatia. Even still, it has ideal beaches where you will be able to encounter hotels and apartments near the sea. Enjoy!

The main tourist municipalities, from the border with Croatia, to the south, to the border with Italy to the north are Lucija, where you'll find impressive yacht charters on the Adriatic Sea; Portoroz; Piran, with one of the biggest offer of hotels and marinas on the Slovenian coast; Strunjan; Drobrava; Jagodle; Izola, one of the most touristy cities on the Slovenian coast, and has many hotels, apartments, and houses for rent, beaches, bars, and restaurants; Koper, the biggest city on the Slovenian coast; and Ankaran, next to the border with Italy. From Lucija to Ankaran by motorway has a distance of 25 km, approximately.

The beaches in Slovenia tend to have boulders and dark sand, as well as rocks, but its waters are very clear, warm, and calm. There are many beaches to mention in Slovenia, like Fiesa Beach in Piran, a semi-urban beach that is located in an area surrounded by nature, next to the city of Piran. It is a beach with rock and sand, and the color of the sand is whiter than other areas. It is a beach that is well visited, but is small. It has restaurants, beach bars, and other services, and is a good place to try fresh fish from the Adriatic Sea.

At only 2 km from Piran is the locality of Strunjan, where you'll find th beach of Strunjanki Zaliv, a semi-urban beach that has a historic city centre pretty close by. It is a beach of rocks and sand, tranquil waters, and easy access.

Remember that in Slovenia, you are on the north part o the Adriatic, and one of its peculiarities is that the sand shines for its absence on most of the coast. The beaches here are different, and this is why you'll find different jetties to enter in the water and take a bath.
